The inspection is present in a current high frequency scenario, main, due to many, a lot of accidents occurred in recent years, in which several issues have collapsed. Events that are run for maintenance of buildings, which are coming out on top, but are not passed to tasks that deal with security holes. This work is a case study of building inspection in the block of the Direction of the Science Center of the Federal University of Ceará, whose objectives are to carry out an inspection following the current technical standards and IBAPE guidelines. It was presented, in the results, the verification checklist suggested for the elaboration of a technical survey report. Which contained information about the building, descriptions of the pathological manifestations (with photos), technical recommendations and suggestion of a maintenance plan. Through this work, it was possible to define a methodology and suggest a checklist model that assists in the performance of a building inspection in accordance with the law in force in the city of Fortaleza/CE.
