Estratégias de redução linguística na charge animada ‘Tobby entrevista famosos no céu’: uma proposta de Legendagem para Surdos e Ensurdecido

This work aims to propose the subtitling for the deaf and hard-of-hearing (SDH) of 'Tobby interviews famous people in the sky', a compilation, in a video, of eight animated editorial cartoons of the character named Tobby , authored by MaurícioRicardo Quirino, whose subtitling comes from the system of voice recognition, available on YouTube. The choice of the corpus was due to the fact that the genre animated editorial cartoon, despite its great social relevance, has not yet been investigated in SDH studies. In this context, it is intended to include the genre in question, so that the humor in it is proportionally accessible to deaf and hearing audiences. The research, of qualitative-quantitative nature, was based on the assumptions of Accessible Audiovisual Translation (ARAÚJO, 2008; CHAVES, 2012; ASSIS, 2016). Subtitles were made on the free software platform Subtitle Workshop 2.51, with emphasis on linguistic reduction, which is subdivided into omission (exclusion of terms) and condensation (substitution of a term for a shorter synonym). The reductions were made after the full text subtitling from the audio and following what the SDH literature in Brazil vouches for (NAVES et al., 2016). The results showed that there were more omissions (11.4%) than condensations (5.5%), and these reductions were motivated in most occurrences by orality marks (redundancies and / or hesitations).
