Based on the structure of the current market, it is possible to understand that globalization and competitiveness between companies have influenced customer requirements, which creates a need for constant improvement. Thus, the understanding of processes, management and aid tools is essential for institutions to be able to fit in with the required demands. In this sense, process mapping is one of the main influencers when it comes to continuous improvements. Through this, it is possible to visualize the current structure of the processes, in addition to enabling a detailed analysis, with identification of bottlenecks and improvements, as well as being a means for initiating future strategies and plans. In educational institutions, public or private, development standards follow the same as those of the market as a whole, thus, attention to actions and improvements is also essential. In view of this, this study aims to analyze the process mapping of the Production Engineering Course at the Federal University of Ceará, Campus Russas, in order to identify points of improvement, proposing strategies and changes for gains related to the quality and optimization of services . In order to achieve these objectives, a study of the literature was carried out, with the intention of obtaining the necessary theoretical basis, as well as identifying tools for prioritizing processes. Data collection was carried out via e-mails, informal interviews and application of forms, with the institution's internal customers. The main results are the selection of processes in relation to priorities, the analysis of current maps and the consequent identification of problems, in addition to the elaboration of new maps with the actions and improvement strategies. These results made it possible to reinforce the importance of good management and knowledge of processes and activities, as well as allowing to see the impact of small actions and good use of resources already available by the organization, which leads to a reduction in wasted time and costs.
