Resumo: The Social Sport Project was developed in a school in Porto Alegre aiming to include black and popular class athletes in school. The objective was to verify if the soccer can be a tool of social and scholastic inclusion. It was a participatory qualitative and observational research. The fact that students play soccer facilitated theiracceptance in school, and the habitusac-quired in the sport made them safer and more mature to deal with everyday difficulties. Final-ly, it is concluded that football, as well as sport in general, is a powerful tool in the process of social inclusion and schooling of young people

O objetivo do estudo foi verificar se o futebol pode ser uma ferramenta de inclusão social e escolar. Foi uma pesquisa qualitativa e observacional participativa. O fato dos alunos jogarem futebol facilitou sua aceitação na esco-la, e o habitusadquirido no esporte tornou-os mais seguros e maduros para lidarem com as dificuldades cotidianas. Por fim, conclui-se que o futebol, assim como o esporte em geral, constitui uma ferramenta poderosa no processo deinclusão social e escolar de jovensEl Proyecto Deporte Social fue desarrollado en una escuela de Porto Alegre para incluir a atletas negros y de clases populares en la escuela. Se objetivó verificar si el fútbol puede ser una herramienta de inclusión social y escolar. Fue una investigación cualitativa y observacio-nal participativa. El hecho de que los alumnos jugar fútbol facilitó su aceptación en la escuela, y el "habitus" adquirido en el deporte les hizo más seguros y maduros para lidiar con las dificultades cotidianas.
