Resumo: Apigenin (APG), a flavonoid abundantly found in chamomile, has anxiolytic and anti-inflammatory effects. However, its mechanisms are not fully understood. The antinociceptive activity of apigenin was evaluated. In animals eighty eight Swiss mice distributed in untreated (NT) and treated with diclofenac (DFC 10 mg / kg), morphine (5 mg / kg) or APG (1, 3 and 9 mg / kg) were used. The hypernociception was evaluated in the neurogenic and inflammatory phases of the formalin test, by the Von Frey test, plantar tissue samples from the animals were collected and analyzed by histology, and in the hot plate. Only the intermediate dose of APG (3 mg / kg) reduced the paw licking time of the animals in the inflammatory phase of the formalin test, similar to the DCF or morphine, which is consistent with the reduction of mechanical allodynia observed in the test of Von Frey on the 4 fourth and 24 fourth hour after intraplantar carrageenan sensitization. As for the initial phase of the formalin test, APG, at any of the doses used, altered the neurogenic nociception, consistent with the absence of antinociceptive effects of APG in the hot plate test, compared to morphine. Thus, it is suggested that APG reduced inflammatory hypernociception in mice independently of central effects.

Lima, Vilma deMelo, Iracema Matos deCosta, Mylena Sabóia2019-11-12T18:52:21Z2019-11-12T18:52:21Z2019info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfCOSTA, M.
