Resumo: Objective: Describe the epidemiological profile and incidence of diseases in the parotid gland (benign and malignant) of the patients submitted to surgical treatment in the parotid in the Center of Oncology and Hematology of Mossoró (COHM) in the past 6 years (2009 - 2015). Methodology: Observational, longitudinal and retrospective study, with application of a structured questionnaire in the electronic records of 33 patients. Subsequently, clinical reassessment of 12 patients was performed. Results: Of these 12 patients, 66.7% were women, the mean age was 50.2 years. Cardiovascular disease (41.7%) was the main comorbidity, and 41.7% had tabagism as a risk factor. It was observed that 80.0% had benign nodules. The main symptom was the presence of single and solid nodular lesions (100.0%), 72.7% had mobile lesions and the mean growth time was 5.1 years. Of patients, 75.0% realized ultrasonography (USG), and 25.0% had specific USG data. A fine needle aspiration (FNA) was performed in 75.0% of the cases, where 62.5% indicated pleomorphic adenoma, 25.0% lesion of epithelioid cells and 12.5% suspected malignancy. Most surgeries occurred in 2013 (41.7%). Conclusion: The data related to the parotid neoplasia were consistent with the literature. The FNA conferred reliability in its results.
