Resumo: This research aims to build a theoretical and conceptual about identity, culture and memory, serving as analytical basis for proposed here studied: the Japanese immigration in Marilia. Here we understand Japanese culture and its influence as a carrier of memory and identity. As historic reconstruction, we use the oral history, which from people of immigration an interview was conducted. Advocates thereby Japanese immigration, itself, as a carrier of culture, memory and identity.

Aqui, concebe-se a cultura japonesa e sua influência como portadora de memória e de identidades. Como técnica de reconstrução histórica utiliza-se a História Oral, que é realizada por meio de entrevistas com pessoas que fizeram parte da imigração.
