Class struggle is a Marxist concept based on economic relations between social classes, where the bourgeois class exploits the working class in order to increase its profits. This monograph intends to work on this concept through cinema. The purpose is to analyze and understand the discourses that indicate the class struggle in Brazilian cinematography, as well as demonstrate the importance of cinema as a communication vehicle that helps us understand the reality of social classes in the country. For this, some reflections on cinema in Brazil are presented, from the advent of Cinema Novo to the most recent works in which it is possible to identify the discourses of class struggles and draw a parallel between the different cycles of national cinema. The adopted methodology consists of an analysis of the speeches based mainly on the definitions of Michel Foucault, as well as the understanding of the semiological concept of signs is necessary. The object of study of this work is the film Que Horas Ela Volta? (2015) and through it one can understand how the characters' discourse refers to the contemporary class struggle. According to the analyzes carried out, it is possible to show that the main character of the plot, a maid, lives in a state of alienation in her work, especially in relation to her bosses, who are from the bourgeois class. And finally, one can see, in the film, how the relationship of domination is broken from the moment the character begins to become aware of class.
