Resumo: | The present study had as objectives to estimate the prevalence of Common Mental DisordersTMC in students of the Undergraduate Nursing Course of the Federal University of Ceará; to verify the association between the occurrence of CMD and sociodemographic, academic, behavioral and psychosocial variables; and to verify the association between the level of QoL and the occurrence of MCT and level of QoL in the students. A descriptive, cross-sectional, analytical study with quantitative approach on CMD, involving students of the Nursing course, with a sample of 269 undergraduate students of the UFC Nursing Course. Three questionnaires were used: the student's characterization (socio-demographic, academic, behavioral and psychosocial profile), the Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20) and Flanagan's Quality of Life Scale (EQV), data analysis was performed in a descriptive and inferential manner, and data were processed through the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), version 20.0 and later presented in tables. TMC results were present in 177 (65.8%) students. The lower the student's age, the greater the occurrence of CMD and the higher the hours of extracurricular activity, the higher the prevalence of the score in SRQ-20. There was a statistically significant association between not performing physical activity and not having good eating habits and having MCT (p: 0.007; p: 0.001). The relationship between family history of TM and having CMT was also significant. There was also a negative correlation between SRQ-20 and EQV. There was an expressive prevalence of CMD among students, and there was an association with the manifestation of this condition in younger students with higher hours of extracurricular activities. With regard to behavioral factors, eating habits and physical exercise are shown as important elements in this study. The lack of physical activities and the practice of good eating habits were associated with the development of CMD. Students with a family history of mental disorders were more likely to develop CMD. The correlation between QOL and MCT was also observed, where the higher the quality of life, the lower the CMD. There is an urgent need for actions aimed at the well-being of this population and the promotion of mental health, the need for university planning of prevention and care strategies is clear, given the scenario and vulnerability of students. |

Teles, Liana Mara RochaNunes, Ingrid Isabel da Costa2018-12-26T18:00:56Z2018-12-26T18:00:56Z2018info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfNUNES, I.
