TEACHING GEOGRAPHY THROUGH THE UNIVERSAL DESIGN OF LEARNING AT FEDERAL INSTITUTE OF PIAUÍ, CAMPUS ANGICAL

Resumo: | When discussing Geography education today, especially in the pandemic context in which we live, we cannot help but think about school inclusion. This article aims to analyze the teaching of geography from the use of the Universal Learning Design (DUA) with students with intellectual disabilities presenting teaching practices. For this, a qualitative, descriptive approach was used as a methodology, which made use of documentary and bibliographic research. The activities as well as the student's interactions and impressions were recorded in a class diary. In order to research Geography education from the perspective of school inclusion, the DUA was used as a guiding inclusive strategy, as it brings the possibility of making the curriculum more flexible, providing a variety of options, based on the application of its principles and guidelines, for teaching everyone. The research showed that the DUA has a lot to contribute to school inclusion and inclusive geographic education, presenting an encouraging result regarding the schooling of a student with intellectual disabilities, being possible its application in other situations of disability both in the teaching of Geography, as in other subjects. |

Ao discutir o ensino de Geografia nos dias de hoje, principalmente no contexto pandêmico em que vivemos, não podemos deixar de pensar na inclusão escolar. O artigo tem como objetivos analisar o ensino de geografia a partir do uso do Desenho Universal da Aprendizagem (DUA) com estudante com deficiência intelectual apresentando as práticas de ensino. Para isso, utilizou-se como metodologia uma abordagem qualitativa, de cunho descritivo, que fez uso de pesquisa documental e bibliográfica. As atividades, assim como, as interações e impressões do estudante foram registradas num diário de aula. Com o intuito de pesquisar o ensino de Geografia a partir da inclusão escolar utilizou-se o DUA como estratégia inclusiva norteadora, pois ele traz uma possibilidade de flexibilização do currículo proporcionando variedade de opções, a partir da aplicação de seus princípios e diretrizes, para o ensino de todos. A pesquisa demonstrou que o DUA tem muito a contribuir com a inclusão escolar e com a educação geográfica inclusiva, apresentado resultado animador com relação à escolarização de um aluno com deficiência intelectual, sendo possível sua aplicação em outras situações de deficiência tanto no ensino de Geografia, como em outras disciplinas. Cuando se habla de la enseñanza de la geografía hoy, especialmente en el contexto pandémico en el que vivimos, no podemos dejar de pensar en la inclusión escolar. El artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la enseñanza de la geografía desde el uso del Diseño Universal de Aprendizaje (DUA) con estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual presentando prácticas docentes. Para ello, se utilizó como metodología un enfoque cualitativo, de carácter descriptivo, que hizo uso de la investigación documental y bibliográfica. Las actividades, así como las interacciones e impresiones de los estudiantes, se registraron en un diario de clase. Para investigar la enseñanza de la Geografía desde la inclusión escolar, se utilizó la DUA como estrategia orientadora inclusiva, ya que brinda la posibilidad de flexibilizar el currículo, brindando una variedad de opciones, en base a la aplicación de sus principios y lineamientos, por la enseñanza a todos. La investigación mostró que la DUA tiene mucho que aportar a la inclusión escolar y la educación geográfica inclusiva, presentando un resultado alentador en cuanto a la escolarización de un alumno con discapacidad intelectual, siendo posible su aplicación en otras situaciones de discapacidad tanto en la enseñanza de la Geografía, como en otras disciplinas.
