THE TEACHING OF RACIAL RELATIONS IN GEOGRAPHY: PROPOSITIONS FOR THE CLASSROOM

Resumo: Racism is a phenomenon that structures the life of the black population. As it materializes in geographical space, it segregates blacks and restricts their spatialities. The school stands out as an institution that has great contributions in the struggle to overcome racism, as well as the teaching of Geography that can provide an education that contemplates in a positive way the black people. In this sense, the research aims to suggest pedagogical propositions that offer ways of how the racial question can be discussed in Geography classes. The propocitions were elaborated based on the Curricular Directives of Education (DCE) Basic of Paraná and in didactic model proposed by Gasparin (2011). It is hoped to foment the debate of the racial questions in the teaching of Geography and to contribute to a teaching of Geography that incorporates the Law 10.639/03 in its curriculum.

La escuela se evidencia como una institución que tiene grandes contribuciones en la lucha por la superación del racismo, así como la enseñanza de Geografía que puede proporcionar una educación que contemple de forma positiva al pueblo negro. En ese sentido, la investigación objetiva sugerir proposiciones pedagógicas que ofrecen caminos de cómo la cuestión racial puede ser discutida en las clases de Geografía. Las propociciones fueron elaboradas con base en las Directrices Curriculares de la Educación (DCE) Básica de Paraná y en el modelo didáctico propuesto por Gasparin (2011). Se espera fomentar el debate de las cuestiones raciales en la enseñanza de Geografía y contribuir a una enseñanza de Geografía que incorpore la Ley 10.639/03 en su currículo.O racismo é um fenômeno que estrutura a vida da população negra. À medida que se materializa no espaço geográfico, ele segrega os(as) negros(as) e restringe suas espacialidades. A escola se evidencia como uma instituição que possui grandes contribuições na luta pela superação do racismo, assim como o ensino de Geografia que pode proporcionar uma educação que contemple de forma positiva o povo negro. Nesse sentido, a pesquisa objetiva sugerir proposições pedagógicas que oferecem caminhos de como a questão racial pode ser discutida nas aulas de Geografia. As proposições foram elaboradas com base nas Diretrizes Curriculares da Educação (DCE) Básica do Paraná e no modelo didático proposto por Gasparin (2011).
