COMPARATIVE SPACE-TEMPORAL STUDY OF THE SPECTRAL RESPONSE OF THE VEGETATION OF THE APA OF THE CURU RIVER ESTUARY AND SURROUDINGS USING MULTIESPECTRATIVE IMAGES

Resumo: The need to balance the preservation of coastal zones, notwithstanding the promotion of their development, is an emerging understanding. The use of Remote Sensing has been consolidated in the monitoring of conditions and changes in coastal areas. Thus, the behavior of the vegetation activity of an estuarine area and its immediate surroundings was evaluated through the multitemporal analysis of Landsat images between the years 2000 to 2020 based on three vegetation indices: NDVI, SAVI and IAF. It is concluded that the flora underwent significant changes in terms of distribution, density and health in two decades. The complementarity in the responses observed by the Indexes and the field data proved to be an efficient tool for assessing the conditions of the flora in the face of the main environmental impacts in the area, in order to be applied in local coastal planning and management.

El uso de la Teledetección se ha consolidado en el seguimiento de condiciones y cambios en las zonas costeras. Así, se evaluó el comportamiento de la actividad vegetal de un área estuarina y su entorno inmediato mediante el análisis multitemporal de imágenes Landsat entre los años 2000 a 2020 en base a tres índices de vegetación: NDVI, SAVI e IAF. Se concluye que la flora sufrió cambios significativos en cuanto a distribución, densidad y sanidad en dos décadas. La complementariedad en las respuestas observadas por los Índices y los datos de campo demostraron ser una herramienta eficiente para evaluar las condiciones de la flora ante los principales impactos ambientales en el área, para ser aplicada en la planificación y gestión costera local.A necessidade de equilibrar a preservação das zonas costeiras, não obstante a promoção de seu desenvolvimento, é um entendimento emergente. O uso do Sensoriamento Remoto vem se consolidando no acompanhamento das condições e alterações de áreas costeiras. Deste modo, avaliou-se o comportamento da atividade da vegetação de uma área estuarina e seu entorno próximo por meio da análise multitemporal de imagens Landsat entre os anos 2000 a 2020 baseando-se em três índices de vegetação: NDVI, SAVI e IAF. Conclui-se que a flora passou por mudanças expressivas quanto a distribuição, a densidade e a saúde em duas décadas.
