Resumo: | The hydrographic basin is an important instrument for the planning and management of water resources, being defined as an area bounded by water divisions formed by a main river and its tributaries. This work aims to understand the physiography and hydrology of the high course of the hydrographic basin of Santo Antônio, Ilha do Maranhão through morphometric analysis. This research has a theoretical and empirical character and in order to reach the objective, a bibliographic, cartographic and morphometric data survey was carried out, thematic maps were elaborated and field work was carried out. The morphometric data collected in the study area took into account the linear and sandy analysis and through the results achieved it was possible to better interpret the physiography and the hydrological behavior of the high course. These data can serve as a basis for monitoring this basin and analyzing areas subject to floods. |

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo comprender la fisiografía e hidrología del curso alto de la cuenca hidrográfica de Santo Antônio, Ilha do Maranhão a través del análisis morfométrico. Esta investigación tiene un carácter teórico y empírico y para lograr el objetivo, se realizó un estudio de datos bibliográficos, cartográficos y morfométricos, se elaboraron mapas temáticos y se realizó un trabajo de campo. Los datos morfométricos recopilados en el área de estudio tomaron en cuenta el análisis lineal y arenoso y, a través de los resultados obtenidos, fue posible interpretar mejor la fisiografía y el comportamiento hidrológico del curso alto. Estos datos pueden servir como base para monitorear esta cuenca y analizar áreas sujetas a inundaciones.A bacia hidrográfica é um importante instrumento de planejamento e gestão de recursos hídricos, sendo definida como uma área delimitada por divisores de águas formada por um rio principal e seus afluentes. Este trabalho objetiva compreender a fisiografia e hidrologia do alto curso da bacia hidrográfica do Santo Antônio, Ilha do Maranhão por intermédio da analise morfométrica. A pesquisa possui caráter teórico/empírico e para alcance do objetivo realizou-se levantamento bibliográfico, cartográfico, de dados morfométricos, elaboração de mapas temáticos e realização de trabalhos de campo. Os dados morfométricos levantados levaram em consideração a análise linear e areal, onde foi possível realizar uma melhor interpretação da fisiografia e do comportamento hidrológico do alto curso.
