Conceptions of languages ​​and reading in digital educational objects in the digital textbook Português: linguagens em conexão

In this research, we analyzed the conceptions of language, by also highlighting the conceptions of reading/literature, in the Digital Learning Objects (DLO) of the digital textbook Português: linguagens em conexão (2013), by Maria das Graças Leão Sette, Márcia Antônia Travalha and Maria do Socorro Starling de Barros. The theoretical basis of this research is supported by Bakhtin ([1929] 2014), Fuza, Ohuschi, Menegassi (2011), Geraldi (1999), Oliveira (2010), Travaglia (2002), and others. The study consists of qualitative and documentary research, as we examined the DLO and the Portuguese textbook, documents that are part of the teaching context. To make this research viable, we followed the following methodological steps: (i) we carried out a survey of the DLOs in the reading and teaching of images segment in that book; (ii) we attended each of the DLOs; (iii) we analyzed the DLO of the book, considering the category of analysis conceptions of language and reading. The results of the investigation indicate that there is a hybridization of conceptions of language in the analyzed DLO. However, we ascertained a higher predominance of language concepts as an expression of thought and as a communication tool, at the expense of language as verbal interaction.
