Resumo: | Currently, in a predominantly urban society, an individual spends on average 80 to 90% of their time in confined and artificially air conditioned environments, consuming up to 14 m³ of air per day. Historically, in some air-conditioned buildings, occupants developed health problems to the detriment of lack of attention to the quality of the air environment, in which case the location presented what is called Sick Building Syndrome (SED). In China, in 2019, the outbreak of the new viral strain of coronavirus, COVID-19, highlighted the importance of renewal systems, as in the beginning of 2020, in the same country, in the city of Guangzhou, in a restaurant with an air conditioning equipment, it was concluded that the transmission of the virus was caused by the circulation of respiratory droplets, resulting from the poor ventilation of the room. In this perspective, the air renewal project was carried out, as well as the investigation of the thermal load in the auditorium of the Engineering Center II, in UFERSA. The environment has two Split type air conditioners, with a capacity of 60,000 BTU/h each. For the study, norms and resolutions that guide the conditioning projects in general were considered. With the results obtained, it was possible to elaborate a project to renew the air in the auditorium. The final thermal load, when considering the renewal of air, presents an acceptable value and consistent with the needs of the environment. The grates, the air exhaust and the filters are reliable, and meet the normative and project needs. |
