Frequency of sleep disorders in rural workers

Resumo: Context: The majority of rural workers have a low quality of life because they work tirelessly for very low pay or suffer from the instability of unemployment due to the seasonality of the activity. Objective: Detect, select and synthesize the relevant evidence in national and international literature related to the development of sleep disorders in rural workers. Methods: Systematic review carried out in the Medical Literature and Retrivial System Online (PUBMED) databases, The Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) and Virtual Health Library (VHL), with publication between the years 2010 to 2020, in Portuguese and English; in the Science Direct (SD) database, research articles from the last five years, from 2015 to 2020, were selected; both took into account the assessment of sleep disorders in rural workers. From the guiding question, was constructed the material was selected based on the combinations of the descriptors: "Rural workers" OR farmers AND "sleep disorders" - employed at PUBMED and SD - and "Rural workers" OR farmers AND "sleep disorders" - applied in SCIELO and the VHL. After the initial identification of the articles, reading was carried out in pairs and selection according to the eligibility criteria. Results: Eight articles were selected. Most studies were a Cohort Study. It is very common for rural workers to experience sleep disorders, as well as anxiety and depression, especially those who do not have a fixed job, depending on the harvests. Conclusion: The development of sleep disorders in rural workers has a multifactorial cause and is determinant for other diseases, requiring interventions in the field of occupational health.

Objetivo: Analisar, a partir de uma revisão sistemática da literatura, a frequência de distúrbios do sono em trabalhadores rurais. Métodos: Revisão sistemática realizada na Medical Literature and Retrivial System Online (PUBMED), The Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) e Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), com publicações entre os anos de 2010 a 2020, em português e inglês; já na base de dados Science Direct (SD) foram selecionados artigos de pesquisa dos últimos cinco anos, de 2015 a 2020; ambos levaram em consideração a avaliação dos distúrbios do sono em trabalhadores rurais. A partir da pergunta norteadora, procedeu-se a seleção do material a partir das combinações dos descritores: "Rural workers" OR farmers AND "sleep disorders" – empregados no PUBMED e no SD – e "Trabalhadores rurais" OR agricultores AND "distúrbios do sono" – aplicados no SCIELO e na BVS. Após a identificação inicial dos artigos, foi realizada leitura aos pares e seleção conforme de critérios de elegibilidade. Resultados: Foram selecionados oito artigos. A maioria dos estudos foi Estudo de Coorte. É muito comum trabalhadores rurais apresentarem distúrbios do sono, bem como ansiedade e depressão, principalmente aqueles que não possuem um trabalho fixo, dependendo das colheitas. Conclusão: O desenvolvimento de distúrbios do sono em trabalhadores rurais tem causa multifatorial e é determinante para outros agravos, necessitando de intervenções o campo da saúde do trabalhadorContexto: La gran mayoría de los trabajadores rurales tienen una baja calidad de vida, ya que trabajan incesantemente por salarios muy bajos o sufren un desempleo inestable debido a la estacionalidad de la actividad. Objetivo: Analizar, a partir de una revisión sistemática de la literatura, la frecuencia de trastornos del sueño en trabajadores rurales. Métodos: Revisión sistemática realizada en Medical Literature and Retrivial System Online (PUBMED), The Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) y Virtual Health Library (BVS), con publicaciones entre 2010 y 2020, en portugués e inglés; en la base de datos Science Direct (SD) se seleccionaron artículos de investigación de los últimos cinco años, de 2015 a 2020; ambos tuvieron en cuenta la valoración de los trastornos del sueño en trabajadores rurales. Con base en la pregunta orientadora, el material fue seleccionado a partir de las combinaciones de los descriptores: "Trabajadores rurales" O agricultores Y "trastornos del sueño" -empleados en PUBMED y SD- y "Trabajadores rurales" O agricultores Y "disturbios hacen dormir" - aplicado en SCIELO y BVS. Después de la identificación inicial de los artículos, fueron leídos en parejas y seleccionados según criterios de elegibilidad. Resultados: Se seleccionaron ocho artículos. La mayoría de los estudios fueron estudios de cohortes. Es muy común que los trabajadores rurales tengan trastornos del sueño, además de ansiedad y depresión, especialmente aquellos que no tienen un trabajo estable, dependiendo de la cosecha.
