Vivendo casamentos, separações e recasamentos: um estudo sobre o campo representacional da conjugalidade

Resumo: | The object of the research is conjugality. To study conjugality is important to comprehend a reality that seems paradoxal at surface: there is a rise in divorce and separation numbers, but at the same time, it is verified that marriage is still considered by people as an important aspect of life. In that way the present research aims to identify the representational field of conjugality and its relation with the day to day marital praxis. The Social Representational Theory was used to base the analyses. The methodological design used was the qualitative approach. The data was collected by focus groups. Six focus groups were held. Three groups had women as participants and three focus groups had men as participants. The criteria to choose the participants to take part in the study were: Group 1: persons who were married for 10 years or less; Group 2: persons who were divorced or separated; Group 3: persons who were in a second marriage. All the participants also had to have at least one child at the first marriage and live on a considered middle and upper high class neighborhood. The results present the representational field of conjugality as formed by social representations objects of love, marriage/ remarriage and divorce/separation. There are social representational elements which are shared by all groups and elements which are specific considering sex. The shared elements which form the conjugality representational field present the conjugality as a partnership based on love, complicity and respect. The divorce/ separation is social represented as a frustration and a breakdown of a conjugality dream. The women, specifically, represented the conjugality as a space where they have to give themselves for the marriage well being and takeover wife and mother roles. The social representation of marriage presents idealized/ romanticized elements that can change along the day to day marriage life. To the men, the specific elements present conjugality as a space where dedication and hard work are necessary in order to maintain it. An important element to conjugality success is the wife´s active role, contrary of the docile, submissive wife. Marriage is represented as a ritual and a tradition in which fidelity is important. The representational field analyses present elements referring to traditional gender roles and elements referring to a more equalitarian relationship. The representational field anchoring analyses showed that satisfaction and happiness seems to be the elements that direct the anchoring process. The representational field identified orients to a praxis in which the conjugality is lived as an affectionate space where both couple members need to be satisfied. Upon this perspective, negotiation is the essential tool for a loving relationship success. |

Upon this perspective, negotiation is the essential tool for a loving relationship success.Le présent travail a, pour objet de recherche, la vie conjugale. L‘importance de cette thématique réside en la compréhension d‘une réalité qui, en principe, peut être considérée comme paradoxale. En effet, on observe l‘augmentation du nombre de séparations et de divorces mais, en même temps, on se rend compte que le mariage garde son importance chez les individus. Face à ces constatations, la présente recherche vise à identifier le champ de représentativité de la vie conjugale et son rapport avec les pratiques quotidiennes du couple. On a utilisé la Théorie des Représentations Sociales comme base des analyses qu‘on a réalisées. La ligne méthodologique adoptée est celle de l‘abord qualitatif ayant comme instrument de récolte de données, la technique appelée ―focus group‖. Six ―focus group‖ ont été formés dont trois avec de femmes et trois avec des hommes. Les critères pour la participation ont été les suivants: Groupe 1: être marié depuis 10 ans; groupe 2: être séparé et/ou divorcé; groupe 3: se trouver au deuxième mariage. Il fallait encore que les participants aient eu des enfants au premier mariage et qu‘ils habitent des quartiers considérés aisés et des quartiers riches. Les résultats obtenus montrent que le champ de représentativité de la vie conjugale est constitué d‘objets de représentation sociale d‘amour, de mariage/remariage et de séparation/divorce. On y remarque des éléments de représentation sociale qui sont partagés et des éléments spécifiques, selon le sexe. Les éléments partagés qui composent le champ de représentativité considèrent la vie conjugale comme une communauté basée sur l‘amour, la complicité et le respect. La séparation/divorce est représentée socialement comme une frustration et une rupture du rêve de vie conjugale construite. Les femmes, notamment, représentent la vie conjugale comme l‘espace où elles doivent s‘investir pour le bien-être des rapports conjugaux et où il leur faut assumer le rôle d‘épouse et de mère . La représentation sociale du mariage, chez elles, présente des éléments d‘idéalisation et de sentimentalisme qui peuvent subir des modifications au fur et à mesure qu‘elles vivent le quotidien de la vie conjugale. Pour les hommes, les éléments spécifiques dénotent que la vie conjugale est un espace où il faut un certain investissement personnel et des efforts constants pour que ça dure. Un composant également considérable qui contribue au succès de la vie conjugale est le rôle actif et indépendant de la femme qui s‘oppose à l‘attitude de la femme dépendante. Le mariage est représenté aussi comme un rituel et une tradiction dans lesquels la fidélité est fondamentale. À partir de l‘analyse du champ de représentativité, on a pu remarquer aussi bien des éléments qui se rapportent aux rôles traditionnels de genre que des éléments qui traduisent des relations plus égalitaires. Au moment où l‘on a procédé à l‘analyse de l‘ancrage du champ de représentativité de la vie conjugale, on a observé que la satisfaction et le bonheur individuel semblent en être les éléments conducteurs. Le champ de représentativité identifié oriente vers une pratique où la vie conjugale est vécue comme l‘espace affectif dans lequel le couple concerné a besoin d‘être content. Dans cette perspective, la négociation est l‘outil essentiel au succès des rapports amoureux.O presente trabalho tem como objeto de pesquisa a conjugalidade. A relevância dessa temática está na compreensão de uma realidade que, em princípio, pode ser vista como paradoxal: observa-se o aumento no número de separações e divórcios, mas, ao mesmo tempo, verifica-se, a manutenção da importância do casamento para os indivíduos. Diante disso, a presente pesquisa objetiva identificar o campo representacional da conjugalidade e a sua relação com as práticas cotidianas do casal. Foi utilizada a Teoria das Representações Sociais como base para as análises realizadas. O delineamento metodológico adotado foi o da abordagem qualitativa, tendo como instrumento de coleta de dados a técnica de grupo focal. Foram realizados 6 grupos focais, sendo 3 grupos com mulheres e 3 grupos com homens. Os critérios para participação foram os seguintes: Grupo 1: estar casado até 10 anos; Grupo 2: estar separado e/ ou divorciado; Grupo 3: estar no segundo casamento. Os participantes ainda precisavam ter tido filho no primeiro casamento e residir em bairros considerados de classe média alta e classe alta. Os resultados encontrados apresentam que o campo representacional da conjugalidade é composto por objetos de representação social de amor, casamento/recasamento e separação/divórcio. Observam-se elementos de representação social que são compartilhados e elementos específicos de acordo com o sexo. Os elementos compartilhados que compõem o campo representacional apresentam a conjugalidade como uma parceria baseada no amor, na cumplicidade e no respeito. A separação/divórcio é representada socialmente como uma frustração e um rompimento com o sonho de conjugalidade construído. As mulheres, especificamente, representam a conjugalidade como o espaço em que devem doar-se para o bem estar da relação conjugal e assumir o papel de esposa e mãe. A representação social do casamento apresenta elementos de idealização/romantização que podem sofrer modificações à medida que vivem o cotidiano da conjugalidade. Para os homens, os elementos específicos presentes apresentam a conjugalidade como um espaço no qual é necessário dedicação e trabalho cotidiano para a sua manutenção. Um elemento importante para o sucesso da conjugalidade é o papel ativo da mulher, diferente da mulher submissa. O casamento é representado também como um ritual e uma tradição em que é importante a fidelidade. A partir da análise do campo representacional, observam-se tanto elementos que se referem aos papéis tradicionais de gênero quanto elementos que configuram uma relação mais igualitária. Ao realizar a análise da ancoragem do campo representacional da conjugalidade, observou-se que a satisfação e a felicidade individual parecem ser os seus elementos norteadores. O campo representacional identificado orienta para uma prática em que a conjugalidade é vivenciada como espaço afetivo no qual ambos os envolvidos precisam estar satisfeitos.
