Resumo: This paper presents a bibliographical review about vehicle and crew scheduling problem which is applicable in the optimization of public transportation systems. The traditional sequential approaches are presented. The most relevant mathematical models for the integrated approach are exposed. Finally, resolution approaches for the integrated problem, based on heuristics, branch-and-bound, lagrangean relaxation, columns generation and meta-heuristics are presented.

Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar uma revisão bibliográfica acerca do problema de programação integrada de veículos e motoristas, o qual é aplicável na otimização de sistemas de transporte público. As abordagens tradicionais seqüenciais são apresentadas. Os principais modelos matemáticos para a abordagem integrada são expostos.
