An analysis of the position and level of education of the users in their evaluation of integrated management systems

Resumo: This article presents the results of a research that aimed at analyzing the influence of the job position and the level of education of the users in their satisfaction with integrated management systems (the enterprise resource planning - ERP). We collected data through semi-structured questionnaires applied to 115 ERP users in 13 different companies, and performed data analysis using the following techniques: descriptive statistics, Spearman correlation coefficient and Chi-Square Automatic Interaction Detector (CHAID). The results demonstrated that the role and position of users have a direct influence on the evaluation of ERPs. In general, the evaluation of the technical and assistant users presented statistically higher results than the evaluation performed by users in supervisory and coordination positions. We could also observe a significant influence of the level of instruction of the users in their evaluation of the systems, especially because employees with lower level of education tended to evaluate more positively the characteristics of the ERPs.

Os dados foram coletados por meio de questionários semiestruturados aplicados a 115 usuários de ERPs em 13 diferentes empresas. A análise dos dados foi realizada por meio das seguintes técnicas: estatística descritiva, coeficente de correlação de Spearman e Chi-Square Automatic Interaction Detector (CHAID). Os resultados evidenciaram que o cargo e a função dos usuários têm influência direta na avaliação dos ERPs. Em geral, a avaliação dos usuários técnicos e assistentes apresentou resultados estatisticamente superiores aos da avaliação realizada por usuários em cargos de supervisão e coordenação.
