Anti-democratic acts in the second round of presidential elections in Brazil: An analysis of the female figure as a news source

Resumo: This article deals with the propaganda image in the media of women who participated in the undemocratic acts that took place on 11/03/2022, with the aim of questioning the electoral result that elected Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) as president of Brazil, to understand what treatment they received in media coverage, in terms of space and focus in newspapers. Through theoretical and methodological contribution of Framing Theory, guided by the concepts of gender, race and news as a social construction, it was found that women are rarely heard as sources of this news and appear more in the background in videos, reinforcing the idea of subalternization. The aim is to contribute to expanding debates on the representations of gender and race in the media based on analyzes of the coverage of the main national news portals.

A través del aporte teórico y metodológico de la Teoría del Framing, guiado por los conceptos de género, raza y noticia como construcción social, se encontró que las mujeres raras veces son escuchadas como fuentes de estas noticias y aparecen en segundo plano en los videos, reforzando la subalternización. El objetivo es ampliar los debates sobre las representaciones de género y raza a partir de análisis de la cobertura de los principales portales de noticias nacionales.Este artigo trata da imagem propaganda na mídia das mulheres que participaram dos atos antidemocráticos ocorridos em 03/11/2022, no intuito de questionar o resultado eleitoral que elegeram Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) como presidente do Brasil, para entender que tratamento receberam na cobertura midiática, em termos de espaço e enfoque nos jornais. Pelo aporte teórico e metodológico da Teoria do Enquadramento, norteada pelos conceitos de gênero, raça e de notícia como construção social, foi verificado que as mulheres são pouco ouvidas como fontes destas notícias e aparecem mais em segundo plano nos vídeos, reforçando a ideia de subalternização.
