TO ANALYZE WAYS OF LIFE: RAYMOND WILLIAMS AND FEELING STRUCTURES IN CROOKED PLOW: A NOVEL

Resumo: We reflect on Raymond Williams' cultural hypothesis “structures of feelings”, considering the relevance of art and literature as research sources for understanding ways of doing/feeling/thinking of certain social groups, understood as constitutive elements of the historical process. We indicate that this category also contributes to accessing ways of life, which are manifested in relationships with nature, work and coexistence in the territory of a given community. We analyzed the brazilian novel Crooked Plow, by Itamar Vieira Junior, articulating “structures of feelings” with the concepts of ways of life, nature and culture. Keywords: Feeling Structures. Indicamos que esta categoría también contribuye al acceso a modos de vida, que se manifiestan en las relaciones con la naturaleza, el trabajo y la convivencia en el territorio de una determinada comunidad. Analizamos la novela brasileña Torcido Arado, de Itamar Vieira Junior, articulando “estructuras de sentimientos” con los conceptos de modos de vida, naturaleza y cultura. Torcido Arado.Refletimos sobre a hipótese cultural “estruturas de sentimentos” de Raymond Williams, tendo em conta a relevância da arte e da literatura como fontes de pesquisa para apreensão de formas de fazer, sentir e pensar de determinados grupos sociais, entendidas como elementos constitutivos do processo histórico. Indicamos que essa categoria também contribui para acessar modos de vida que se manifestam nas relações dos seres humanos com a natureza, no trabalho e na convivência em uma comunidade.
