Resumo: This article seeks to understand how the book Lazer e Educação (1995), by Nelson Carvalho Marcellino, appropriates Gramscian thought and what was the depth and quality of these appropriations. This study's methodology was the analysis of the work of Antonio Gramsci, his scholars and other Marxists, in parallel with Marcellino's text. We conclude that the mentions of Gramsci's concepts were not fully faithful to the letter of his text, with little in-depth appropriations or with modified meanings, in addition to having a departure from Gramscian thought.

La metodología de este estudio fue el análisis de la obra de Antonio Gramsci, sus estudiosos y otros marxistas, en paralelo con el texto de Marcellino. Concluimos que las menciones a los conceptos de Gramsci no fueron del todo fieles a la letra de su texto, con escasas apropiaciones en profundidad o con significados modificados, además de tener un alejamiento del pensamiento gramsciano. Palabra clave: Ocio; Educación; Antonio Gramsci.Este artigo busca entender de que forma o livro “Lazer e Educação” (1995), de Nelson Carvalho Marcellino, se apropria do pensamento gramsciano e qual foi a profundidade e qualidade destas apropriações. Como metodologia, analisamos a obra de Antonio Gramsci, de seus estudiosos e outros marxistas, em paralelo ao texto de Marcellino. Concluímos que as menções aos conceitos de Gramsci não estavam integralmente fiéis à letra do seu texto, com apropriações pouco aprofundadas ou com significados modificados, além de ter havido um afastamento do pensamento gramsciano em seu estudo.
