MODELING FUTURE URBAN EXPANSION SCENARIOS IN PARATY MUNICIPALITY USING CELLULAR AUTOMATA

Resumo: Based on cellular automata, this work aims at modeling future urban expansion scenarios in Paraty municipality/RJ, in reason of its importance at regional levels due to tourism development and its recent urban growth. A modeling was performed in the software DINAMICA EGO with insertion of variables that influence the model in order to reproduce or repel the urban spots through the sum of the weights of evidence. Supported by the result of the process, a scenario was created for the year 2030, which followed the same trend of built areas concentration in and around the city center and scattered urban centers along BR-101. In short, the modeling proved to be satisfactory and consistent with the transitions of occupation observed in past periods, also demonstrating the importance of using urban growth planning analysis tools, which can be aided by the application of geotechnologies, as well as, for the management and planning of land cover and use.

Ceci s'explique par son importance à l'échelle régionale, due au développement touristique et à la croissance urbaine récente. La modélisation a été réalisée à l'aide du logiciel DINAMICA EGO, en intégrant des variables qui influencent le modèle pour favoriser ou décourager les zones urbaines, grâce à la somme des poids de preuve. En se fondant sur les résultats de ce processus, un scénario a été élaboré pour l'année 2030, suivant la même tendance de concentration de l'occupation dans le centre-ville et ses environs, ainsi que des centres urbains dispersés le long de la BR-101. En résumé, cette modélisation s'est révélée satisfaisante et cohérente avec les transitions d'occupation observées au cours des périodes antérieures, démontrant également l'importance de recourir à des outils d'analyse pour la planification de la croissance urbaine, lesquels peuvent bénéficier de l'application des géotechnologies, ainsi que pour la gestion et la planification de l'occupation et de l'utilisation des terres.Baseado em autômatos celulares, este trabalho visa a modelagem de cenários futuros da expansão urbana de Paraty, estado do Rio de Janeiro, devido à importância que este município tem conquistado em âmbito regional em virtude do desenvolvimento turístico e de seu recente crescimento urbano. A modelagem foi efetuada no software DINAMICA EGO com a inserção de variáveis que influenciassem no modelo de forma a atrair ou repelir manchas urbanas através do somatório dos pesos de evidência. Apoiado no resultado do processo realizado, gerou-se cenário para o ano de 2030, que seguiu a mesma tendência de concentração da ocupação no centro da cidade e arredores e de núcleos urbanos dispersos ao longo da BR-101.
