DECOLONIALITY AND POST-DEVELOPMENT: NEW CLOTHS FOR THE OLD CRITICAL GEOGRAPHY

Resumo: Abstract: The objective of this text is to analyze research works in geography that use the approaches of post-development and decoloniality in order to answer two questions: a) to what extent have such approaches contributed to the production of theories in geography? b) does the incorporation of these approaches mean a renewal of geographic thinking or just the reproduction of theoretical-methodological, ethical and ideological assumptions that define critical geography in a new guise? To answer these questions, a theoretical and empirical analysis of these approaches is carried out, focusing on the relations between development and poverty on a global scale. Keywords: Critical Geography; Decoloniality; Post-Development; Poverty.Resumen: Este texto tiene como objetivo analizar pesquisas en geografía que utilizan los discursos del postdesarrollo y de la decolonialidad con el fin de responder dos preguntas: a) ¿hasta qué punto estos discursos han contribuido para la producción de teorías en geografía?; y b) ¿la incorporación de eses discursos significa una renovación del pensamiento geográfico, o solo una reproducción de los presupuestos teórico-metodológicos, éticos e ideológicos que definen la geografía crítica con una nueva envoltura? Para contestarlas se realiza un análisis lógico y empírico de eses discursos, enfocando las relaciones entre desarrollo y pobreza em escala mundial. Palabras clave: Geografía crítica; Decolonialidad; Postdesarrollo; Pobreza.O objetivo deste texto é analisar trabalhos de pesquisa em geografia que utilizam os discursos do pós-desenvolvimento e da decolonialidade com o fim de responder duas questões: a) até que ponto tais discursos têm trazido contribuições para a produção de teorias em geografia? b) a incorporação desses discursos significa uma renovação do pensamento geográfico ou apenas a reprodução dos pressupostos teórico-metodológicos, éticos e ideológicos que definem a geografia crítica com nova roupagem? Para responder a tais perguntas, efetua-se uma análise lógica e empírica desses discursos tendo como foco as relações entre desenvolvimento e pobreza em escala mundial.
