THE IMPORTANCE OF THE AMAZON IN THE CLIMATE DYNAMICS OF CENTRAL-SOUTHERN BRAZIL: influence on environmental and socioeconomic dynamics

Resumo: The Amazon plays a significant role in the Brazilian climate regime. However, the advance of agribusiness and the growing occupation of the Amazon rainforest, expressed from the increase in deforestation and fires, may mean the emergence of crises in other Brazilian regions, including the Center-South. In this sense, the present work aims to demonstrate, from the study of specialized literature, the importance of the Amazon rainforest for the maintenance of the climate regime throughout the national territory and to explain how deforestation and forest fires influence the climate of the Brazilian Center-South region. The methodology is based on a bibliographic survey through literature review. The studies analyzed indicate that the Amazon rainforest has a high influence on extra-Amazonian environments, extending to the economy at a national level, although its ecological services are being reduced with the advance of agribusiness and forest deforestation.

Sin embargo, el avance de la agroindustria y la creciente ocupación de la selva amazónica, expresados ​​a partir del aumento de la deforestación y los incendios, pueden significar el surgimiento de crisis en otras regiones brasileñas, incluido el Centro-Sur. En ese sentido, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo demostrar, a partir del estudio de la literatura especializada, la importancia de la Amazonía para el mantenimiento del clima en todo el territorio nacional y explicar cómo la deforestación y los incendios forestales influyen en el clima del Centro-Sur de Brasil. La metodología se basa en un levantamiento bibliográfico por medio de revisión bibliográfica. Los estudios analizados indican que la Selva Amazónica tiene una alta influencia en los ambientes extra amazónicos, extendiéndose a la economía a nivel nacional, aunque sus servicios ecológicos se están reduciendo con el avance de la agroindustria y la deforestación forestal.A Amazônia possui um papel significativo no regime climático brasileiro. Entretanto, o avanço do agronegócio e a crescente ocupação da floresta Amazônica, expressos a partir do aumento do desmatamento e das queimadas, pode significar o surgimento de crises nas demais regiões brasileiras, entre elas o Centro-Sul. Nesse sentido, o presente trabalho possui a finalidade de demonstrar, a partir do estudo da literatura especializada, a importância da Amazônia para a manutenção do clima em todo o território nacional e explicitar como o desmatamento e as queimadas na floresta influenciam no clima do Centro-Sul brasileiro. A metodologia baseia-se em levantamento bibliográfico mediante revisão de literatura.
