Resumo: Executive coaching encompasses a set of techniques to apply to professional occupants of key positions in companies, aiming to significant performance improvement of these professionals and, consequently, also the company where this is practiced. This research aims to study a company in the Brazilian retail sector, investigating, specific and comparatively, the promises and the results from our executive coaching activities implemented in the organization. In methodological terms, the research bolsters on the scientific and technical literature in order to create theoretical support and data collection tool for conducting empirical research through the two distinct groups of executives who have experienced executive coaching process, besides company hired to conduct the initiative. As expected results, aims to obtain a more accurate understanding about the critical success factors and benefits of coaching initiatives in Brazilian organizations, as well as verifying the possible limitations of the methodology

A presente pesquisa se propõe a estudar uma empresa do setor de varejo brasileiro, investigando, específica e comparativamente, as promessas e os resultados provenientes das atividades de coaching executivo implantadas na referida organização. Em termos metodológicos, a pesquisa ampara-se na literatura técnico-científica, no intuito de criar subsídios teóricos e instrumento de coleta de dados para realização de investigação empírica junto aos dois grupos distintos de executivos que experimentaram o processo do coaching executivo, além da empresa contratada para a condução da iniciativa.
