Resumo: This article proposes to investigate the contribution of traditional dishes - Caruru from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil and Callaloo from Trinidad and Tobago – to the configuration of the group identities of those who consume these dishes. To this end I shall analyse these dishes by relating them to other cultural products created by these communities, such as music, literature, religion, searching for repetitions and differences in the cultural and identitarian constructions of these regions and using the study of food as a productive metaphor of these cultures.

Universidade Federal Fluminense2005-12-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionAvaliado pelos paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoata/article/view/33268Gragoatá; Vol. 10 No. 19 (2005): África, new pathwaysGragoatá; v. 10 n. 19 (2005): África, novos percursos2358-41141413-9073reponame:Gragoatáinstname:Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF)instacron:UFFporhttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoata/article/view/33268/19255Copyright (c) 2019 Gragoatáinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAlmeida, Maria Cândida Ferreira de2020-08-18T23:25:03Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/33268Revistahttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoataPUBhttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoata/oai||revistagragoata@gmail.com2358-41141413-9073opendoar:2020-08-18T23:25:03Gragoatá - Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF)false
