Resumo: After advocating the insertion of Translation within the Language Sciences paradigm and exploring some of its basic concepts, this articles aims at unveiling the main features which characterize translation from a discourse perspective. To this end, a comparison between translation and other forms of discourse, in the light of the concepts of intertextuality and reformulation, is established.
