Resumo: The aim of this paper is to reflect upon the theoretical and methodological implications for field research under the perspectives of the dialogic approach to language (BAKHTIN, 2003) and of the ergologic approach (SCHWARTZ, 1997). These discussions were triggered by researches which, though extremely diverse in terms of the objects investigated, had in common, besides the theoretical framework, the fact that field research was always involved. We start from the theoretical assumption that objectivity in research is impossible, since the silencing of the voices brought in by the researcher is not feasible. In what concerns language studies in work situation, it is essential the establishment of a dialog between the worker of the concepts (i.e., the researcher) and the workers of the activities which are being analyzed. Thus, the choices are negotiated among all the participants of the dialogic community which has been created (FRANÇA, 2002).
