Resumo: In this article, we will analyse two narratives of Rigoberta Menchú and of Davi Kopenawa, which have some characteristics in common, such as being targeted to a “white” public (even though these are Amerindians authors) and describing elements of the Amerindian culture. We will also present historical facts, from an indigenous point of view, regarding the convergence between the Amerindian and the general culture of their respective countries (Guatemala and Brazil). The narratives were originally published in foreign languages, instead of those of their Amerindian authors, and were organized and structured by people connected to the French culture and their “occidental” disciplinaries perspectives. All these narrative characteristics analyzed raise a lot of questions regarding the role of the authors.

Universidade Federal Fluminense2024-04-08info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoata/article/view/5962510.22409/gragoata.v29i63.59625.frGragoatá; Vol. 29 No. 63 (2024); e59625Gragoatá; v. 29 n. 63 (2024); e596252358-41141413-9073reponame:Gragoatáinstname:Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF)instacron:UFFfrahttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoata/article/view/59625/36565Copyright (c) 2024 Gragoatáhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.ptinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessJobim, José Luís2024-04-16T19:25:34Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/59625Revistahttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoataPUBhttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoata/oai||revistagragoata@gmail.com2358-41141413-9073opendoar:2024-04-16T19:25:34Gragoatá - Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF)false
