Resumo: In this paper some biographical information of L. S. Vygotsky is presented, drawn from the work of a Russian researcher whoconducted investigations into the family archives. An excerpt from the reseacher’s paper, in which she transcribes unpublishednotes by Vygotsky, is translated. This information refers to his relationship with his illness; to the strong presence of Hamlet inperiods of crisis and hospitalization; to his relationship with family; to his commitment to the October Revolution; and to thedevelopment of his theory. Some indications of his concerns with the Jewish question are highlighted.
