Resumo: This study aimed to understand the production of sense of work and school among adolescents who experience working and studying. The research was based on Subjectivity Theory, mainly on the concept of subjective sense. Four adolescents living in urban and rural areas of the state of Bahia, male and female, participated in this study. Conversation sessions were held and the use of a sociodemographic questionnaire and a complementation of sentences. The results showed the valorization of work, seen as a formative space and promoter of values, guaranteeing access to consumer goods and overcoming the privations imposed by poverty. The school was represented as a learning environment and preparation for the future, and an auxiliary mechanism for the achievement of professional aspirations. These results may help in the formulation and improvement of public policies aimed at guaranteeing rights and protection for working adolescents.

La investigación se basó en la Teoría de la Subjetividad, principalmente en el concepto de significado subjetivo. Participaron de este estudio cuatro adolescentes, hombres y mujeres, residentes en áreas urbanas y rurales del estado de Bahía. Se realizaron sesiones de conversación y se utilizó un cuestionario sociodemográfico y completamiento de oraciones. Los resultados apuntaron para la valorización del trabajo, visto como espacio formativo y promotor de valores, garantizando el acceso a los bienes de consumo y superando las privaciones impuestas por la pobreza. La escuela se representó como un ambiente de aprendizaje y preparación para el futuro y un mecanismo auxiliar para el logro de las aspiraciones profesionales. Estos resultados pueden ayudar en la formulación y mejora de políticas públicas dirigidas a garantizar los derechos y la protección de los adolescentes trabajadores.Este estudo teve como objetivo compreender a produção de sentidos de trabalho e escola entre adolescentes que vivenciam a experiência de trabalhar e estudar. A pesquisa se fundamentou na Teoria da Subjetividade, principalmente no conceito de sentido subjetivo. Participaram deste estudo quatro adolescentes residentes em zonas urbanas e rurais do estado da Bahia, do sexo masculino e feminino. Foram realizadas sessões de conversação e utilizado um questionário sociodemográfico e uma complementação de frases. Os resultados apontaram a valorização do trabalho, visto como espaço formativo e promotor de valores, de garantia de acesso a bens de consumo e superação das privações impostas pela pobreza. A escola foi representada como ambiente de aprendizados e preparação para o futuro e mecanismo auxiliar para a consecução de aspirações profissionais.
