Resumo: This paper seeks to define and discuss the meaning of the term marginality and its presence in Marginals and other tales. To do so, we draw a comparative picture between João Melo’s book of short stories and Hélio Oiticica’s Seja Marginal seja herói. In this way, we see how the term can be read in some of the short stories that make up the work and, also, we have in analysis what the dialog that the set of texts establishes with this term, which names the short story that closes the work. To compose the article, we rely on reflections and studies by Hanna Arendt, Linda Hutcheon, and Roberto Vecchi.

Nesse caminho, vemos como o termo pode ser lido em alguns contos que compõem a obra e, também, temos em análise o que o diálogo que o conjunto de textos estabelece com esse termo, que nomeia o conto que fecha a obra.
