Resumo: The article proposes an analysis of Pepetela’s tale, highlighting the sense of “strangeness”, based on the ideas of Benjamin and Freud about this concept, facing the occidental tradition that canonize facts and myths of the Portuguese “achievements” in the end of the fifteenth and the early sixteenth century. In addition, proposes also understand the fictional clash between the gods of Olympus, presented by Camões, in Os Lusíadas, as controllers of natural phenomena in the world (including Africa) and the African gods, remembered by the Angolan writer as those that dominate the local territory, even before the “colonization of goddesses” proposal in the Portuguese text.

XVI. Além disso, caminha no sentido de um destrinchamento do embate ficcional entre os deuses do Olimpo, apresentados por Camões, em Os Lusíadas, como controladores dos fenômenos naturais em todo o mundo, incluindo a África, e os deuses africanos, lembrados pelo escritor angolano como dominantes do território continental, antes mesmo da “colonização divina”, proposta no texto camoniano.ABEC Brasil2011-11-19info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionPeer-reviewed ArticleArtigo avaliado por paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.uff.br/revistaabril/article/view/2974010.22409/abriluff.v4i7.29740ABRIL – NEPA / UFF; Vol. 4 No. 7 (2011): THE COLONIAL AND THE POST-COLONIAL: CRITICAL CONSIDERATIONS; 57-64Abril – NEPA / UFF; v. 4 n. 7 (2011): O COLONIAL E O PÓS-COLONIAL: REFLEXÕES CRÍTICAS; 57-641984-209010.22409/abriluff.v4i7reponame:Abril (Niterói)instname:Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF)instacron:UFFporhttps://periodicos.uff.br/revistaabril/article/view/29740/17281Copyright (c) 2018 Abril – NEPA / UFFinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMattos, Marcelo Brandão2019-08-09T09:28:52Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/29740Revistahttps://periodicos.uff.br/revistaabrilPUBhttps://periodicos.uff.br/revistaabril/oairevistaabril@vm.uff.br||nepa@vm.uff.br||uffnepa@gmail.com||idafalves@gmail.com1984-20901984-2090opendoar:2019-08-09T09:28:52Abril (Niterói) - Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF)false
