Resumo: This work attempts to recover a concept of actuality and actualization (or updating) that can stand against the idea of automaticity contained in the concept of actualism. Although this concept adequately describes a contemporary experience of time, it seems to be a victim of the same phenomenon it denounces, by losing sight of its historicity and, with it, the range of possibilities that transform any category into a disputed territory. Through the review of other conceptions of actualization, present in different traditions, we will try to expand the meaning of the concept of actualism as to provide a tool for thinking and warding against an overwhelming historical and political conformation that is also perceived as unstoppable.

Si bien este concepto describe adecuadamente una experiencia contemporánea del tiempo, parece ser víctima del mismo fenómeno que denuncia, al perder de vista su historicidad y, con ella, el abanico de posibilidades que transforman a toda categoría en un territorio en disputa. A través del repaso de otras concepciones de la actualización, provenientes de diferentes tradiciones, intentaremos expandir el significado del concepto de actualismo para proporcionar una herramienta de pensamiento y de defensa frente a una conformación histórica y política avasalladora que se presenta, además, como indetenible. Este trabajo intenta recuperar un concepto de actualidad y de actualización que puedan contrarrestar la idea de automaticidad contenida en el concepto de actualismo.
