Resumo: Based on considerations about the author's artistic background, professional performance and educational philosophy, the text presents a reflection on the racial identity politics in the field of dance. The criticism of ethnocentric assumptions points to tensions between naming practices and identity representation policies in the field of black dances. It analyzes the experience of inserting Afro-diasporic practices in the dance undergraduates' curriculum at the Federal University of Bahia. Finally, it comments on the notion of the place of speech in the ethnic racial debate in the arts and the challenges in building agencies and multiethnic alliances.

A crítica de pressupostos etnocêntricos aponta tensionamentos entre as práticas de nomeação e as políticas de representação identitária no campo das danças negras. Analisa a experiência de inserção de fazeres e saberes afro-diaspóricos na história do currículo de licenciandos em dança na Universidade Federal da Bahia.
