Results: 1156 studies were identified, of which 8 met the inclusion criteria. The studies were categorized into first and second generation devices. Conclusion: it is concluded that the use of first and second generation laryngeal mask by nurses is an alternative recommended for its speed, success and effectiveness in guaranteeing the advanced airway, especially in situations of cardiorespiratory arrest in adults, however, it is recommended if the adverse effects of its use are verified.
