Applicability of clinical simulation scenario in the teaching of laryngeal mask insertion

Resumo: Objective: To evaluate the applicability of the clinical simulation scenario with nursing students in teaching laryngeal mask insertion through the simulation design scale. Method: Cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, developed with nursing students from a public higher education institution. Results: Predominance of females, single (93%). The analysis referring to the five dimensions of the simulation design scale showed grade 5 (5.8), considering the assessment I totally agree, followed by grade 4 (5.3), I agree with the statement. In this way, students consider that the objectives and information provided were sufficient and the information adequate and directed to promote their understanding process for decision making. During the debriefing, the feedback and reflection right after the service were considered by the students as an opportunity to analyze their own behavior in the actions performed, and finally, the realism within the proposed scenario resembles a real situation. Conclusion: it emphasizes the importance of testing previously planned scenarios and that simulation is an active methodology that improves decision-making and contributes to the student's critical thinking.

Método: Estudio transversal con enfoque cuantitativo, desarrollado con estudiantes de enfermería de una institución de educación superior pública. Resultados: Predominio del sexo femenino, soltero (93%). El análisis referente a las cinco dimensiones de la escala de diseño de simulación arrojó el grado 5 (5,8), considerando la evaluación Estoy totalmente de acuerdo, seguido del grado 4 (5,3), Estoy de acuerdo con el enunciado. De esta forma, los estudiantes consideran que los objetivos y la información brindada fueron suficientes y la información adecuada y dirigida a promover su proceso de comprensión para la toma de decisiones. Durante el debriefing, la retroalimentación y la reflexión posterior al servicio fueron consideradas por los estudiantes como una oportunidad para analizar su propio comportamiento en las acciones realizadas, y finalmente, el realismo dentro del escenario propuesto se asemeja a una situación real. Conclusión: se destaca la importancia de probar escenarios previamente planificados y que la simulación es una metodología activa que mejora la toma de decisiones y contribuye al pensamiento crítico del estudiante.Objetivo: Avaliar a aplicabilidade do cenário de simulação clínica com estudantes de enfermagem no ensino da inserção da máscara laríngea através da escala do design da simulação. Método: Estudo transversal de abordagem quantitativa, desenvolvido com estudantes do curso de enfermagem de uma instituição publica de ensino superior. Resultados: Predomínio do sexo feminino, solteiros (93%). A análise referente as cinco dimensões da escala do design de simulação evidenciou nota 5 (5,8), considerando a avaliação concordo totalmente, seguida da nota 4 (5.3), concordo com a afirmação. Desta forma, os estudantes consideram que os objetivos e as informações fornecidas foram suficientes e, as informações, adequadas e direcionadas para promover seu processo de compreensão para tomada de decisão. Durante o debriefing, o feedback e a reflexão logo após o atendimento, foram considerados pelos estudantes, como uma oportunidade de analisar seu próprio comportamento nas ações realizadas, e por fim, o realismo dentro do cenário proposto se assemelha a uma situação real.
