Ubuntu: an alternative philosophy to the environmental crisis

Resumo: This article aims to propose the Ubuntu African doctrine as an alternative philosophy to the problems ecological and environmental of. Reflection makes use of the concept of Ubuntu that seeks to understand the community in a more comprehensive way to achieve balance and harmony with nature. From a qualitative nature approach was applied to literature for the achievement of the proposed study, which consists of corpus literature. In the case of a subject and theme with few approaches written also took into account the oral source of knowledge based on tradition lives of African people. The study and analyzes, it is concluded that, Ubuntu aims to ecological knowledge or wisdom, proposing to explore the variety of interrelations of living beings with nature. It is because of this understanding that we think Ubuntu is by definition Naturocêntrica and therefore can undoubtedly collaborate to deal with the ecological crisis and environmental problems of modernity.

Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar Ubuntu como una filosofía alternativa a los problemas ecológicos y ambientales de la modernidad. La reflexión utiliza el concepto de Ubuntu que busca entender a la comunidad de una manera más integral para lograr el equilibrio y la armonía con la naturaleza. Al tratarse de un tema con pocos planteamientos escritos, también se tomó en cuenta la fuente oral de conocimiento basada en la tradición viva de los pueblos africanos, comentarios e informes. Del estudio y análisis realizados se concluye que Ubuntu apunta al conocimiento o sabiduría ecológica, proponiendo explorar la variedad de interrelaciones de los seres vivos en la naturaleza, sin excluir a los humanos, personas y sociedades. Es por este entendimiento que Ubuntu es considerado, incluso por definición, Naturocéntrico y, por tanto, sin duda puede colaborar para afrontar la crisis ecológica y los problemas medioambientales de la modernidad.Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar Ubuntu como uma filosofia alternativa aos problemas ecológicos e ambientais da modernidade. A reflexão vale-se do conceito de Ubuntu que busca entender a coletividade de um modo mais integral para o alcance do equilíbrio e harmonia com a natureza. Por se tratar de um assunto e tema com poucas abordagens escritas, levou-se também em consideração a fonte oral do saber baseada na tradição viva dos povos africanos, de comentários e relatos. Do estudo e análises realizadas, conclui-se que Ubuntu tem como objetivo o conhecimento ou sabedoria ecológica, propondo-se explorar a variedade de inter-relações dos seres vivos na natureza, sem a exclusão dos humanos, das gentes e das sociedades. É por causa desse entendimento que Ubuntu é considerada, até por definição, Naturocêntrica e, portanto, pode colaborar indubitavelmente para lidar com a crise ecológica e os problemas ambientais da modernidade.
