Resumo: Since the Brazilian Federal Constitution of 1988 was promulgated, the Electoral Justice, as a branch of the Judicial Power, is characterized by its concern with the maintenance of stability of democratic process and by the assertion of its own regulative authority. The Electoral Justice is formed by the Superior Electoral Court and by its state branches (called “Regional Electoral Courts”) and its functions are jurisdictional, administrative, normative, and consultative. This article is based on the “functional analysis” and investigates the contents of the news in the Regional Electoral Court of Paraná – TRE-PR’s website. The article shows that TRE-PR is using its website as a means to promote publications that stimulates the citizens’ political and electoral consciousness and, by doing so, to bring the Electoral Justice closer to the citizens/voters.

Cabe a Justiça Eleitoral formada pelo Tribunal Superior Eleitoral e pelos tribunais regionais nos processos eleitorais cumprirem as funções: jurisdicional, administrativa normativa e consultiva. A metodologia utilizada na presente pesquisa baseia-se em Iasulaitis (2007) a partir da análise funcional e na análise de conteúdo sobre as noticias divulgadas no website.
