Resumo: This dissertation presents the results of a research route that aimed to carry out an ethnographyof the community communicative processes involved in the trajectory of the Kanela Indigenous People, inhabiting the floodplain areas of the Araguaia River, currently grouped in the Aldeia Nova Pukanu, located in the municipality of Luciara (State of Mato Grosso). Starting from the methodological theoretical assumption that underlies the approach of the ethnography of communication, from which descriptive and analytical researches that involve the relationship between language and society are dimensioned and based, there is the consideration, for the observation to which proposed the present study, of communication as an essential cultural manifestation for the functioning of human societies, understood as its founding symbolic process. Therefore, the research was interested in the observation, analysis and description of the Kanela communicative community, aiming to understand their differentiating attributes, cultural specificities and processes of construction and social sharing of meanings. This study is also based on theoretical critical perspectives, especially the cultural, postcolonial and decolonial studies, through which it is possible to problematize the fixity existing at the alterity’s ideological construction found at the colonial speech. In this sense, we note the centrality of the communicational path in the process of “ethnogenesis” Kanela do Araguaia, through which the community began to challenge the markers of stereotype, the main discursive strategy of coloniality, and to communicate its indigenous identity to agents of the Brazilian State, to the population of the surroundings of the indigenous village and to the local media, together with the demand for the reversal of the land ownership embezzlement involved in its historical trajectory. Finally, considering the theoretical assumption that relates language as a cultural product resulting from the association between communicative flows and Community social practices inserted in concrete contexts and situations, we analyze how the indigenous Kanela do Araguaia engender communicative processes in the context of the process. of cultural resistance and struggle to retake the traditional territory they experience, in permanent tension with the great speculative capital and with the agribusiness that is advancing on the Araguaia region. Based on a variety of data collection instruments aimed at describing the communication process in question, we relate the community communicative processes inserted in the contexto of the political trajectory of Kanela cultural resistance and defense of communal use and permanence in the territory claimed by the indigenous community.

Submitted by Luciana Ferreira (lucgeral@gmail.com) on 2021-10-05T14:05:34Z No. of bitstreams: 2 Dissertação - Mônica Machado Carneiro - 2021.pdf: 7043605 bytes, checksum: 3d13f1c5591f5fe2a409391dc87dbe72 (MD5) license_rdf: 805 bytes, checksum: 4460e5956bc1d1639be9ae6146a50347 (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Luciana Ferreira (lucgeral@gmail.com) on 2021-10-06T12:06:43Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 2 Dissertação - Mônica Machado Carneiro - 2021.pdf: 7043605 bytes, checksum: 3d13f1c5591f5fe2a409391dc87dbe72 (MD5) license_rdf: 805 bytes, checksum: 4460e5956bc1d1639be9ae6146a50347 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-10-06T12:06:44Z (GMT).
