Resumo: The Rubiaceae Juss. family is the fourth largest of angiosperms, with about 10,700 species and 640 genera distributed throughout the tropical regions around the world. The genus Psychotria L. is the largest of the family, comprising about 2000 species. The single most important secondary metabolites of genus are alkaloids, representing over 60% from isolated compounds and structurally characterized reported until 2013. To these compounds is attributed wide variety of pharmacological activities such as antifungal, anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant and inhibitory monoaminooxidases enzymes A and B, related to diseases such as Parkinson's disease. Psychotria goyazensis Müll Arg. is a species of Rubiaceae family, genus Psychotria L., commonly found in brazilian midwestern. The fractionation of the crude extracts from leaves, twigs and fruits yielded two know alkaloids: calychantine (Pgfr 1) and strictosidinic acid (Pgf 1) and it led to identify the harmane (Pgf 7) and also, a novel quinoline alkaloid named hydroxy-calychantine (Pgfr 2a).The triterpenes ursolic and oleanolic acid (Pgf 2) and steroids sitosterol and stigmasterol free (Pgf 5) and glycosylated (Pgf 3) were identified in mixtures. Also, the phytochemical study of P. goyazensis allowed to the isolation of a phenolic compounds, the coumarin isoescopoletin (Pgg 1) and pointed out an interesting aspect of this plant, since there are no reports in literature on the simultaneous isolation of both types of alkaloid of the same species of the genus.

Submitted by Cláudia Bueno (claudiamoura18@gmail.com) on 2015-11-03T16:24:00Z No. of bitstreams: 2 Dissertação - Marcelo Augusto Pereira Januário - 2015.pdf: 5612013 bytes, checksum: 21d62fb31c78a1c5f8c42dd6e193dade (MD5) license_rdf: 23148 bytes, checksum: 9da0b6dfac957114c6a7714714b86306 (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Luciana Ferreira (lucgeral@gmail.com) on 2015-11-04T09:28:13Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 2 Dissertação - Marcelo Augusto Pereira Januário - 2015.pdf: 5612013 bytes, checksum: 21d62fb31c78a1c5f8c42dd6e193dade (MD5) license_rdf: 23148 bytes, checksum: 9da0b6dfac957114c6a7714714b86306 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2015-11-04T09:28:13Z (GMT).
