THE APPROPRIATION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES BY TERENA INDIGENOUS PEOPLE: A MEANS OF STRUGGLE AND RESISTANCE

Resumo: This article aims to analyze how Terena indigenous people perceive the use of communication and information technologies. Field research was carried out through semi-structured interviews with Terena indigenous teachers from Mato Grosso do Sul. A qualitative analysis was performed by articulating the teachers' answers with authors from the field of indigenous education and interculturality. The research allowed for the conclusion that, according to indigenous teachers, communication and information technologies are a means of struggle and resistance, thus serving to strengthen their political struggle for rights, as well as Terena indigenous identity and culture.

La investigación de campo fue realizada a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas con profesores indígenas Terena de Mato Grosso do Sul. El análisis fue cualitativo y se dio a través de la articulación de los discursos de los profesores con autores del campo de la educación indígena y de la interculturalidad. Por la investigación realizada, se puede concluir que, según los docentes indígenas, las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación son un instrumento de lucha y resistencia, sirviendo para fortalecer su lucha política por los derechos y la identidad y cultura indígena Terena.O artigo tem como objetivo analisar a percepção de indígenas Terena sobre o uso das tecnologias de comunicação e informação. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas com professores indígenas Terena de Mato Grosso do Sul. A análise foi qualitativa e deu-se por meio da articulação das falas dos professores com autores do campo da educação indígena e da interculturalidade.
