SPORT AND CINEMA: HISTORICAL INTERFACES AND CONTEMPORARY EDUCATIONAL POSSIBILITIES

Resumo: Considering both cinema and sport as manifestations arising from Modernity, this text proposes to discuss the representation of sport in cinema from the modern context and to open a dialogue in contrast with contemporary pedagogical possibilities. The research is descriptive with a qualitative approach and is organized in two moments. In the first, he uses the sociology of sport and communication as a theoretical framework that guides the critical reading of the film Olympia (1938). The second narrates and discusses a pedagogical experience in high school. The reflections point to feedback from cinema and sport for the affirmation of values cultivated in modernity, such as speed and rationality, but also for the reconstruction of meanings, via student authorship, which is in line with the current educational policy.

La investigación es descriptiva con enfoque cualitativo y se organiza en dos momentos. En el primero, hace uso de la sociología del deporte y la comunicación como marco teórico que orienta la lectura de la película Olympia (1938). El segundo narra y discute una experiencia pedagógica en la escuela secundaria. Las reflexiones apuntan a la retroalimentación desde el cine y el deporte para la afirmación de los valores de la modernidad, como la velocidad y la racionalidad, pero también para la reconstrucción de significados, a través de la autoría, en consonancia con la actual política educativa.Considerando o cinema e o esporte como manifestações oriundas da modernidade, o presente texto propõe discutir a representação do esporte no cinema a partir do contexto moderno e abrir diálogo no contraste com possibilidades pedagógicas contemporâneas. A pesquisa é descritiva com abordagem qualitativa e se organiza em dois momentos. No primeiro, aciona a sociologia do esporte e da comunicação como postura teórica que orienta a leitura crítica do filme Olympia (1938). No segundo, narra e problematiza uma experiência pedagógica no Ensino Médio.
