Resumo: In this article, we present some theoretical and methodological subsidies that were used by us to inventory the type of chess as an object of sociological research, more precisely, a subject of research in sociology of sport. In the first part of the text, we make some remarks on the constitution of chess as a subfield modern sport. In the second part, in turn, we aim to demonstrate some appreciation of fronts that can be opened to enhance the sociological mode from a historical and structural aspect of the chess world championships. Sporting Field.En este artículo, presentamos algunos subsidios teóricos y metodológicos que fueron utilizados por nosotros para el inventario de la práctica de ajedrez como un objeto de la investigación sociológica, más precisamente, un tema de investigación en sociología del deporte. En la primera parte del texto, se propone hacer algunas observaciones sobre la constitución del ajedrez como un subcampo deportivo moderno subcampo. En la segunda parte, a su vez, nuestro objetivo es demostrar algunas frentes de la apreciación que se pueden abrir para colaborar com la lectura sociológica de la práctica deportiva a partír del rescate históricos y estructurales de los campeonatos mundiales de ajedrez.
