Resumo: This is the review of "Sport in the school context: meanings in Physical Education classes", by Clóvis Marcelo Sedorko whos Specialist in Physical Education at school and Master in Education. The work is the result of a field research conducted by the author that aimed to understand the pedagogical treatment of sports in Physical Education classes in elementary school. There is a large academic literature review about the sport and school interface, such as Pierre Bourdieu's contributions, the pedagogical approaches in Physical Education and Pedagogy of sport. The book's analysis shows that Sedorko's work is successful for provoking in the reader the need to continue reflecting on the "permanent tension" between sport and school, however, through a context and theoretical perspectives different from those of the renovating movement.

La obra es fruto de la investigación de campo realizada con el objetivo de comprender cómo ha sido el trato pedagógico del deporte en las clases de Educación Física en la escuela elemental. Se percibe una amplia revisión de literatura acerca del deporte y escuela, con contribuciones de Pierre Bourdieu, los enfoques pedagógicos de la Educación Física y la Pedagogía del Deporte. Consideramos exitoso el trabajo de Sedorko por provocar en el lector la necesidad de continuar pensando sobre la "tensión permanente" en la relación deporte y escuela, sin embargo, a través de un contexto y perspectivas teóricas distintas a aquellas del movimiento renovador.Trata-se da resenha do livro “O esporte no contexto escolar: sentidos e significados nas aulas de Educação Física”, de Clóvis Marcelo Sedorko, Especialista em Educação Física Escolar e Mestre em Educação. Fruto da pesquisa de campo do mestrado com o objetivo de compreender como tem sido o trato pedagógico do esporte nas aulas de EF no ensino fundamental. Há uma ampla revisão de literatura acerca da interface esporte e escola, a partir de Pierre Bourdieu, das abordagens pedagógicas da EF e da Pedagogia do Esporte.
