PARENT’S PARTICIPATION IN THE SPORTING TRAJECTORY OF RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS ATHLETES

Resumo: The present study investigated the role of parents in the sports career of rhythmic gymnastics athletes, determining the type of parental involvement in this context, verifying the process of family interaction and identifying the parents characteristics that can influence the athlete's sporting career. The measuring instrument was a semi-structured questionnaire. Were participants of the research 35 subjects. Descriptive statistics and categorical content analysis were used for the data processing. It was concluded that the roles of warmth and control played were fundamental in the development of personal characteristics in the gymnasts, demonstrating the importance of social support for the athletes. Athletes.El presente estudio investigó el papel de los padres en la carrera deportiva de atletas de gimnasia rítmica, determinando el tipo de participación de estos en este contexto, verificando el proceso de la interacción familiar y identificando características que pueden influir en la carrera deportiva del atleta. El instrumento de medición fue un cuestionario semi-estructurado. Participaron del estudio 35 sujetos. Para los datos recogidos se utilizó estadística descriptiva y análisis de contenido categorial. Os papeles de acojimiento y controlo fueran decisivos en el desarrollo de características personales en los gimnastas, lo que demuestra la importancia del apoyo social para estas. Atletas.O presente estudo investigou o papel desempenhado pelos pais na trajetória esportiva de atletas de ginástica rítmica, determinando o tipo de envolvimento parental neste contexto, verificando o processo de interação familiar e identificando características parentais que podem influenciar na carreira esportiva da atleta. O instrumento de medida foi um questionário semi-estruturado. Fizeram parte do estudo 35 sujeitos. Para tratamento dos dados foi utilizada estatística descritiva e análise do conteúdo do tipo categorial.
