Resumo: This article is an excerpt of the master's dissertation presented at the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Brasilia. The research, qualitative character, was to design the community calunga and as procedure the ethnography. The choice of ethnographic research is motivated by the complexity of the phenomenon being studied, the dance. The construction of the methodical way was as follows: (a) literature survey, (b) field work and (c) analysis and interpretation of data. In conclusion, we observed a scaling of the object in question, due to several factors, notably from the youth participation. Keywords: Dance. Body. Quilombo. Calunga.

La investigación, de carácter cualitativo, tuvo como diseño el estudio de la comunidad y de la etnografía calunga, los cuales hicieron parte del procedimiento de búsqueda. La elección de la investigación etnográfica está motivada por la complejidad del fenómeno en estudio, o sea, la danza. La construcción de la forma metódica está hecha de la siguiente forma: (a) la literatura,(b) trabajo de campo y (c) el análisis y la interpretación de los datos obtenidos. En conclusión, se observó una ampliación del objeto en cuestión  debido a varios factores, en especial a la participación de los jóvenes.Palabras clave: Danza. Cuerpo. Quilombo. Calunga.O presente artigo é um recorte da dissertação de mestrado apresentada na Faculdade de Educação Física da Universidade de Brasília. A investigação, de cunho qualitativo, teve por delineamento um estudo da comunidade Kalunga e por procedimento de pesquisa a etnografia. A escolha da pesquisa etnográfica motivou-se pela complexidade do fenômeno a ser analisado, ou seja, a dança. A construção do caminho metódico deu-se da seguinte maneira: (a) levantamento bibliográfico; (b) trabalho de campo e (c) análise e interpretação dos dados obtidos.
