DRUG CONSUMPTION BETWEEN STUDENTS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION: A NARRATIVE REVIEW

Resumo: This study aimed to review the literature that addresses drug consumption among Physical Education students. Twelve scientific articles were selected. The most cited drugs were the licit: alcohol, tobacco and steroids. Although the education about drugs is considered an important issue for the physical education student’s health, the topic was addressed exclusively from the prohibitionist perspective, ignoring the concrete advances on harm reduction. From the selected articles, it was concluded that the topic is invisible in the curriculum and treated in a biased way, which produces misunderstandings and frustrations.

Para ello, se seleccionaron 12 artículos científicos. Las siguientes drogas fueron las más citadas: el alcohol, el tabaco y los esteroides. Aunque se consideró la educación sobre drogas como una cuestión importante para la salud de los estudiantes de educación física, se abordó el tema exclusivamente mediante el enfoque prohibicionista, ignorando los avances concretos en la reducción de daños. Desde el análisis de los artículos seleccionados, se concluye que el tema es invisible em el plan de estudios y que es abordado de forma prejuiciosa, lo que generan malentendidos y frustración.Este estudo teve como objetivo revisar a literatura que aborda o consumo de drogas entre estudantes de educação física. Foram selecionados 12 artigos científicos. As drogas mais citadas foram as lícitas, álcool, tabaco e esteroides. Apesar da educação sobre droga ser considerada uma questão importante para a saúde do estudante de educação física, o tema foi abordado exclusivamente pela perspectiva proibicionista, ignorando avanços concretos da redução de danos.
