Readings of Bourdieu (1998), Harvey (1979) and Choay (1979) have allowed guiding the search to understand the meaning of names given to this square relating them to the deployment strategy of the Palmas city. It would appear, at this work, which cities 'postmodernists', if one can call the urban plan of Palms, in themselves are contradictory, because its materiality is unstable, and it is shaped by the media images imitation, and may be changed at the push of a button will be adapted where and how they want. The sun and the sunflowers, used to name the main town square, which were meant to reflect the anxiety of the planners and builders of Palmas city.
